What does the “Compulsory Internship at ESB for Applicants with 180 ECTs” mean?

Any applicant applying to an ESB link of the programme with 180 ECTs must do a compulsory integrated internship of 6 months (900 hours).

This internship is normally done following Study Block 2 in Reutlingen and before the student proceeds to the thesis phase of the programme. The ESB awards 30 ECTs for students who successfully complete this internship. Any candidate who already has obtained min. 6 months (900 hours) work experience postgraduation may have this experience validated by the ESB as the equivalent of the compulsory internship. The validation involves the student writing a 15-page report on the internship following specific guidelines. The report needs to be submitted latest by 1 February (first day of Study Block 2 at the ESB). The ESB will provide full details of this report once the candidate has been offered a place on the programme.
